Registration
Registration is available Monday–Friday from 8 AM to 7 PM, and on Saturdays until 1 PM.
The membership fee is charged according to the current price list and is valid for 365 days.
Upon registration, the user receives a membership card, which they are required to have with them on every visit to the Library.
Types of membership
Individual:
- annual
- temporary – up to 3 days
- temporary – up to 30 days
Groups:
Institutions and companies may register at the Library as group members by submitting a written request.
Required Documents
To register at the Library, one needs an ID card or a passport and a photo in 30x35mm format (an ID card format). Additional documents are necessary for certain categories of member:
- students of state and private universities, postgraduates, doctoral students: a students’ booklet,
- foreign students: a students’ booklet,
- state and private universities’ staff and other employed people: a proof of employment for inspection when registering,
- the unemployed: Employment Bureau certification with data about the member’s level of education,
- pensioners: a pension cheque,
- high-school seniors: a confirmation from school.
Working hours
The Library is open from 8 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Friday (working with members until 7:45 PM). The Library is also open until 2 PM on Saturdays (working with members until 1:45 PM). The Library is closed on Sundays.
Reading rooms are open from 8 AM to 8 PM (working with members until 7:45 PM).
The “Andrew Carnegie” Student Reading Room is open until 11 PM during the school year (working with members until 10:45 PM). It is open from 8 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays (working with members until 1:45 PM).
Rare Book and Special Collections Reading Room is open from 8 AM to 2 PM, Monday to Friday (working with members until 1:45 PM).
The Catalogue is open from 8 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Friday (working with members until 7:45 PM). It is open from 8 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays (working with members until 1:45 PM).
The Internet Room is open from 8 AM to 8 PM (working with members until 7:45 PM). It is open from 8 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays (working with members until 1:45 PM).
New members can register from 8 AM to 7 PM, Monday to Friday, and from 8 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays.
Publications can be booked from 8 AM to 7 PM, Monday to Friday, and from 8 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays.
Publications can be issued and returned from 8 AM to 7:20 PM, Monday to Friday, and from 8 AM to 1:30 PM on Saturdays.
