Joint Electronic Catalogue is formed from electronic catalogues of the National Library of Serbia, the Matica Srpska Library, the University Library “Svetozar Markovic” in Belgrade and the Yugoslav Bibliographical Information Institute. It contains data on 2,764.006 publications [November 2014]. Today, this network of catalogues consists of 162 libraries from the territory of Serbia.

If users search the Joint Catalogue, they get a list of all libraries in which the requested literature is located, with the number of copies available.

Searching the Electronic Catalogue is possible in three ways:

1. Basic search by 5 elements (the author, year of publication, key words and publisher) with using an asterisk (*) as a wildcard sign

2. Optional search by 28 elements with using an asterisk (*) as a wildcard and logical operators AND, OR, NOT and the possibility of viewing the entered data for each element.

3. Command search for all possible elements which are offered in the prefix and suffix overview, using an asterisk (*) as a wildcard, logical operators AND, OR, NOT, as well as proximity operators WITH, NEAR.
