What is E-CRIS?
Information systems called CRIS (Current Research Information Systems) have been built in Europe for a couple of decades. Today, the expansion of the CRIS system content is typical for areas of finance resources for research, information on patents and innovations, exploitation of the research results, evaluation of research work, etc. The latest trends are supplementing databases with descriptions of research results, links with other (bibliographic) databases and multimedia databases. The important aspect of the CRIS system development is its transfer to Internet, which essentially contributes to its use, as well as to the volume of data, because data providers are more motivated to cooperate. The CERIF standard (Common European Research Information Format) stipulates a data structure of research projects, and it also includes recommendations in regard to research organizations, departments and researchers.
The following entities are currently represented in E-CRIS:
-276 research organizations (list of all organizations),
-799 organization departments (list of all departments),
-10726 researchers (list of all researchers),
-777 research projects (list of all projects).
Databases are interconnected, and most of the data is in Serbian and English. Search in all key fields is possible. E-CRIS.SR is connected to the information system COBISS.SR, i.e. to its bibliographic database COBIB.SR, which enables users to have immediate insight into bibliographies of researchers.
