What does a researcher need to know?

Citations are determined only based on the Web of Science citations database which is published by Clarivate Analytics, Philadelphia. The database includes more than 10,000 most influential journals worldwide.

Requests for creating a bibliography of cited works should be sent via the electronic form.

The bibliography of cited works contains co-citations and hetero-citations. Auto-citations (self-citations) should not be cited.

The bibliography of hetero-citations is made upon a special request. If you want a bibliography of hetero-citations, you should mention it in the note in the request.

Auto-citations (self-citations) are citations in which authors cite their previous works.

Co-citations are citations in which authors cite other authors with which they wrote some earlier works.

Hetero-citations (real citations) are citations in which an author cites other authors. Therefore, they do not cite their own previous works or their co-authors.

What should a researcher prepare?

Aside from the basic data on the researcher which are noted in the electronic request, they should prepare a complete, chronologically arranged bibliography, with the correct order of the authors and without any division by category. The search of citations of works is done by taking the submitted bibliography as a basis (template) for the list of the citations that are going to be entered into it. Therefore, it is important that the bibliography is arranged based on the aforementioned instructions and that it is in a Word format.

Every work from the submitted bibliography is separately searched for according to the first author of the work. In case that bibliography is incomplete, the Department employees are not obliged to include the omitted references in the list of citations.

How to send a request?

A request for creating a bibliography of cited works is sent electronically. It is necessary to fill out the form.

Special request for creating a bibliography of hetero-citations

A bibliography of hetero-citations is available upon special request. The maximum number of hetero-citations is 30 for the entire bibliography and is charged at the price of 80 dinars per hetero-citation + search price.

If you want a bibliography of hetero-citations, mention it in the note in the request.

Deadline for creating a bibliography

Payment is made according to the valid price list by means of an invoice (if the account is settled by an institution) or in cash (if the user pays personally).

The deadline for making a review of citations is up to 10 working days from the day of receipt of the request. Unclaimed official certificates are kept for six months.

The stated deadline for preparing the citation review does not apply to candidates that are regular and corresponding members of SANU. The Department cannot guarantee that the applicants’ requests for SANU will be completed within 10 business days. We ask that candidates who need the results as soon as possible contact the Matica Srpska Library in Novi Sad or the University Library in Kragujevac.

It is not necessary to be a Library member to obtain a bibliography of cited works. There is no possibility of creating a bibliography of cited works by urgent procedure. The Department tries to accommodate researchers, but the speed of processing requests depends on several factors (volume of the bibliography, number of citations, current volume of work in the Department, etc.).

Citations are carried out according to the Science Citation Index, Social Science Citation Index, Arts and Humanities Citation Index databases, that is, according to ISI Web of Science, which encourages the necessary positive selection in Serbian science.

Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) – around 2,100 journals
Arts and Humanities Citation Index (AHCI) – around 1,200 journals

The price list for the preparation of cition bibliographies has been approved by the Consortium of Libraries of Serbia for Unified Acquisition (KoBSON).
