Report on seminars held in 2016

During 2016, a total of 15 seminars were held, and the total number of participants was 339. The seminars were held in the premises of the “Svetozar Markovic” University Library in Belgrade (a total of 5 seminars), but also in other institutions in Belgrade (Library of the City of Belgrade, National Library of Serbia, Ethnographic Museum). A number of seminars were organized in libraries in other cities in Serbia, such as: Library in Sabac, National Library Krusevac, Public Library in Bor, City Library “Vladislav Petkovic Dis” CaCak, Public Library Uzice and Matica Srpska Library in Novi Sad. One seminar was held as part of a multi-day professional program organized by the Internet club in Banja Vrujci.

Content of the seminar

Copyright in the library and information industry

The objectives of the seminar are: familiarization with the basic concepts of intellectual property rights, i.e. copyright, and their recognition in library practice; easier understanding of the provisions of the current Law on copyright and related rights and international conventions; closer acquaintance with the protection of documents in the digital environment and the application of international standards. Through interactive work, participants will be able to connect, systematize and establish a starting point for an adequate approach to these issues in their daily work.

Registration

Registration is done through a form. Those interested will receive a confirmation to their email address that their application has been accepted. Everyone who is registered above the planned number, will be put on the waiting list and subsequently informed about the next appointments.
