The University Library “Svetozar Marković” offers users digitization of library and archival materials upon request. The service includes scanning of books, journals, newspapers, manuscripts, and other materials from the Library’s collection, in compliance with preservation rules and copyright regulations.
In addition to materials from the library’s collection, the Library also provides digitization services for materials brought in by users, in accordance with technical capabilities and the condition of the materials.
Digitized material can be delivered to users as individual scans or as a processed document prepared for searching and further use.
The digitization service is subject to a fee.
Individual Digitization Services
Digitization without material processing
(delivery of individual scans – JPG or TIFF)
- 300 dpi – 25.00 dinars per scan
- 600 dpi – 35.00 dinars per scan
- over 600 dpi – 50.00 dinars per scan
Digitization with basic processing
(scanning, basic image processing, OCR and PDF document creation)
- 300 dpi + OCR + PDF – 50.00 dinars per page
Document structure creation (table of contents)
(adding contents and navigation through the document)
- 20.00 dinars per page
This service allows the PDF document to have a structured table of contents enabling quick navigation through chapters, articles, or sections of the publication.
Advanced Material Processing (DocWizz)
Upon request, advanced processing of digitized material can be performed using the professional DocWizz software.
Processing includes:
- technical correction of scans
- alignment and organization of pages
- merging pages into a complete publication
- OCR text recognition
- creation of a structured PDF document
- adding document structure with a table of contents
- generation of basic publication metadata
DocWizz processing prices:

- newspapers / periodicals – 40.00 dinars per page

Metadata Creation
Upon request, basic bibliographic and technical metadata can be created for the digitized object.

Note
Digitization is carried out in accordance with library material preservation rules and applicable copyright regulations.
For old and rare books, manuscripts, or sensitive materials, as well as for larger digitization projects, the price is determined according to the scope of work, technical requirements, and the condition of the materials.
The Library reserves the right to limit the scope or method of digitization depending on the condition and type of material.
