Who is it for?
The Reading Room named after Andrew Carnegie, the great philanthropist who helped the construction of the University Library building, is primarily intended for students and high-school seniors, but other library users are also allowed to use it.
Use
If a user wants to use the publications from the University Library collections in this Reading Room, they need to fill in a form for using books in reading rooms and to book a publication via “My Library” service. The user receives the publications from a duty librarian in the Reading Room. A publication can be used for a month in the Student Reading Room. In case it is not used for 5 days in a row, it is returned to the storage. If one needs to use their own notes and books in the Reading Room, they must inform the duty librarian.
Before entering the Reading Room, the user must show and hand in their membership card and personal belongings (bags, coats etc.) at the reception. The Reading Room is located on the ground floor and it has 78 seats. Users have access to the wireless internet but they cannot use their laptop computers. If one needs to use their laptop computer, they can visit Periodicals Reading Room and Reading Room in the Basement. Users are allowed to bring in some refreshments (water).
