Who is it for?

Small Digital Reading Room is intended for  students and high-school seniors but other members are also allowed to use it.

About the Reading Room

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development supported the space adaptation on the second floor of the Library in 2013. The Reading Room was opened to the public on Students’ Day, April 4, 2014, with great media attention.

Use

In addition to the part that offers access to the digital collection, Small Digital Reading Room has 35 seats for regular user activities. Here, the users can work on their laptop computers and they have access to the wireless internet. If need be, this space is transformed into an unusual and cozy place for holding meetings, workshops for librarians and for the students from the Department of Library and Information Science.

If a user wants to work with the publications from the University Library collections in this Reading Room, they need to fill in a receipt for using books in reading rooms and to book a publication via “My Library” service. Before entering the Reading Room, the user must show and hand in their membership card and personal belongings (bags, coats etc.) at the reception. The Reading Room is located on the second floor and it has 35 regular seats and 8 seats for browsing digital collections. Users are allowed to bring in some refreshments (water).
