This University Library project is a collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and will be implemented in 2024. It brings together the presentation of construction, reconstruction and arrangement projects of the University Library “Svetozar Markovic”.

About the project-aims

The project includes a series of activities aimed at processing, systematizing and presenting a part of the history of the University Library as a building, which received the status of a cultural monument at the end of the 70s of the 20th century due to its characteristics. The focus of the project is not only the period of construction of the Library from 1921 to 1923, but also various reconstruction and extension projects, with special reference to the construction of underground warehouses more than 4 decades ago. As a result of the initial research activities, the implementation of the project will especially include the organization of an exhibition and discussion about the challenges posed by the construction of such real estate, as well as the preparation and publication of a monograph in which graphic and pictorial material will be presented. Finally, the collected content will be presented in an online version, through a platform where drafts, photos and texts will be available in electronic form.
