Who is it for?

Reading Room of the Old and Rare Books Department is intended for researchers, students and other individuals interested in special collections which can be found in it.

Use

Old and rare books can be used in this Reading Room which is a part of the Old and Rare Books Department better known as “Treasury” and they can also be used in the Professors’ Reading Room. Manuscript books, manuscripts and archival materials, the oldest printed books, antique maps, atlases, unique and special rarities can be used only in this Reading Room.

Here, one can use all copies of the books or periodicals (very important and rare editions, damaged copies, newspapers which are not bound, luxurious editions etc.) which cannot be taken out of the Treasury.

The Reading Room is located in the basement and it has two seats. Users are allowed to bring in some refreshments (water).

Working hours

8 AM – 2 PM Monday to Friday, ordering until 1 PM, closed on Saturdays
