The center for the Support of Doctoral Studies provides professional, informational and educational help to doctoral students, but also to others who plan to enroll in doctoral studies or have already defended their doctoral dissertation and want to make their work visible.
The activities of the Center specifically include:
1) Educational group work
-implementation of trainings for doctoral students (on the form of a doctoral dissertation, use of online services, bibliographic tools, copyright)
-organization of specialized lectures by invitation on the topics that could be of interest for doctoral students (open data, ethics in science, etc.)
2) Instructive individual work, especially regarding issues such as: publishing in categorized scientific journals, researchers’ passwords, etc.
3) Checking the authenticity of doctoral dissertations
-checking the dissertations which entered the process of review and evaluation at the University of Belgrade and the University of Arts in Belgrade
-education about online services for checking authenticity, the operation of the iThenticate system and the process of checking

4) Defended doctoral dissertations
-addition and correction of data in the repository and other issues regarding the defended and archived doctoral dissertations

5) Implementation of project activities that aim to develop professional and informational support for doctoral studies

Authenticity check
The students of doctoral studies can check theses, parts of dissertations and other texts using the iThenticate software. However, finished dissertations which have entered the process of review and evaluation cannot be checked this way.
It is possible to send a request only for your own copyrighted works in accordance with the Law on Copyright and Related Rights. When the work has multiple authors, it is necessary that all co- authors agree to the checking. The responsibility for any copyright infringement lies with the user.
This service of the University Library for the students of doctoral studies is realized, thanks to the support from the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, at a subsidized price.
Pricelist for the students of doctoral studies
Texts up to 25,000 words: 600 dinars
(Every next 25,000 words: 400 dinars)
- Up to 50,000 words: 1,000 dinars
- Up to 75,000 words: 1,400 dinars
- Up to 100,000 words: 1,800 dinars
Every check is charged, regardless of whether it is a repeated check of the same document or the document is being checked for the first time.
The process of checking includes getting a temporary account or rather an account with limited privileges: it is possible to view the checked text, but not to enter new texts.
The process of checking involves a couple of main steps:
- sending an electronic request to the Library, within which a text that should be checked is also sent
- activation of the temporary account: activation mail from the iThenticate system containing a temporary password will be sent to the doctoral student’s email address; it is necessary to change the password when you first enter the system
- access to the ‘Document check’ folder which contains a folder with a name of the doctoral student where the checked text will be located
Students will receive a notification about the finished check, containing the information on the amount and the method of payment from the Library.
