Digital Humanities

Digital humanities is an emerging field, dedicated to researching the application of IT methods and technologies in the humanities disciplines. Works in which mathematical models, algorithms, procedures, standards and IT applications intended for the humanities, are used and developed are welcome. Researchers from various disciplines find their place in the field of digital humanities- from linguistics, classical and modern philology, history, philosophy, archeology, pedagogy, cultural studies, librarianship, archival studies, museology, documentary studies, IT, computing, art. Infotheca is meant for use for all of them.

Call for authors

Infotheca invites authors to submit original works from the field of digital humanities, and some of the preferred topics are:

  • creation, maintenance, and standardization of digital resources for the humanities field
  • research in the field of digital humanities which relies on digital media and IT
  • computational methods and computer applications in linguistic, literary, cultural and historical research
  • development of methods, resources and tools for natural languages processing
  • development of methods, standards and procedures for representation and finding information
  • IT in librarianship, museology, and archival studies and its impact on scientific information and communication systems
  • digital art, architecture, film, theatre and new media
  • impact of electronic learning and other forms of teaching and learning supported by IT educational technologies
  • changes in science, research and publishing under the influence of new technologies
  • place of digital humanities in the University and the development of programs for digital humanities
