Content of the seminar

The topic of the program is the maintenance and linking of uneqivocal identifiers of authors, so that all actors are correctly identified in the upcoming concept of Open Science. Connecting authors and institutions with the results of scientific research work, including open data, is imperative in order to facilitate the monitoring of work evaluation and the development of science and education. Good communication between all actors, from financiers to citizens, enables the development of the whole society.

Course topic

The topic is formed through a detailed familiarization of participants with digital tools and technologies that enable unique identification of researchers on various platforms, primarily ORCID, ResearcherID Google Scholar, as well as familiarization with the possibilities of connection with other systems, which is of great importance for librarians of national, higher education, special and public libraries.

An explanation of existing research corpus recognition platforms.

Logging in and opening an account on the platforms:

ResearcherID

Google Scholar

Establishing a link between the mentioned identifiers, links with the Scopus Author profile and the E-CRIS.SR system

Target group

Higher education librarians, but also all other employees in library and information activities with experience in searching various sources of information.

Preparation for the seminar

It is necessary for participants to open accounts according to the instructions they will receive upon registering for the course.

Duration of the course

The course lasts 1 day / 6 hours. Number of participants from 16 to 20.
