Content of the seminar

The seminar is part of the training on information literacy in libraries. The topic of the program are the basic bibliometric indicators related to the wider research and library community: impact factor, Hirsch index, citations, categorization of domestic and foreign journals, account on Google Academic, citations in non-commercial and commercial sources.

Seminar topics

-Bibliometric indicators: impact factor, Hirsch index, citations

-Google Academic (Google Scholar): creating a personal account, parameter analysis, altmetrics, citations analysis via Google Academic

-Altmetric indicators (number of views, downloads, mentions on social media)

-Serbian citation index

-EleČas page on the KoBSON portal

-Web of Science and Scopus

Seminar goals

Specific training for searching citations in the Google Scholar, free (SCIndex) and commercial citation indexes (Scopus and Web of Science)

Required prior knowledge

It is not necessary to have any prior knowledge since the seminar is planned primarily for higher education librarians and all employees in the library and information industry who search various sources of information.

Duration of the seminar

The seminar lasts 1 day for 6 hours. The number of participants is from 16 to 20.
