Course content
Familiarization with new types of metadata creation required for the description of library materials, from which new requirements arise in the field of organizing and presenting library collections. A brief overview of existing formats for the description of library materials, advantages and disadvantages of application in library and information activities is foreseen; familiarization with the basic characteristics of new formats (RDA and BIBFRAME), definition of the concept and structure of Linked (Open) Data and consideration of new possibilities of organization and presentation of library files.

Required prior knowledge
Knowledge of the process of cataloging library material in automated library systems is required.
Duration of the course
The course lasts 2 days for 3 hours. The number of participants is from 12 to 16.
