The Library provides its patrons with a variety of spaces for work, study, and research — ranging from traditional reading rooms and study areas to specialized centers dedicated to academic and scholarly activities.

Carnegie Reading Room

“Andrew Carnegie” Student Reading Room

Named after the great philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, whose donation enabled the construction of the University Library building, this room is primarily intended for students and high school seniors, as well as other library patrons.

Opening hours: 08:00 – 23:00.

Small Student Reading Room

New Student Reading Room

The new reading room, colloquially known as the “Small Reading Room,” is available for students, high school graduates, and all other library members.

Opening hours: 08:00 – 20:00.

Professors Reading Room

Faculty Reading Room

This reading room is designated for university faculty and researchers, as well as patrons consulting doctoral dissertations, materials from the Old and Rare Books Department, or items obtained via interlibrary loan.

Opening hours: 08:00 – 20:00.

Small People's Digital Reading Room

Small “People’s” Digital Reading Room

The Small People’s Digital Reading Room is available to students, high school seniors, and other patrons for digital research and study.

Opening hours: 08:00 – 15:00.

Rare Books Reading Room

Rare Books Reading Room

This room is dedicated to researchers, students, and individuals interested in the special collections and rare materials housed within this department.

Opening hours: 08:00 – 14:00.

Periodicals Reading Room

Periodicals Reading Room

The Periodicals Reading Room is designated for researchers and patrons utilizing serial publications and journal archives.

Opening hours: 08:00 – 20:00.

Austrian Library

Austrian Library Reading Room

This room serves students, researchers, and faculty members interested in this specialized collection of German-language literature.

Opening hours: 10:00 – 14:00.

Basement Reading Room

Basement Reading Room

Located adjacent to the New Student Reading Room, this area serves as its extension. It is a more dynamic space that facilitates group work and collaborative student projects.

Folk Literature Reading Room

Folk Literature Department Reading Room

This reading room is intended for scholars and patrons interested in the library’s extensive collection of oral and folk literature.
